Russian North


This classic Kholuy bozx was created by artist Irina Petrova. You can see a pair of beautifull swans which are flying south for the winter time. This  couple is flying over the island called Kizhi.  There is a museum of Northern Wooden Architecture  locating in that place. This is opened air museum where you can see houses, churches, mills, towers etc. All these historical constructions represent architecture style of russian north.The most interesting piece in museum is Cathedral (right corner of painting). This creature was built without no one single nail.It was built in 1714 and stands in perfect condition.

Painter used green, brown colours and gold to paint cupolas of churches and ornament around the painting . The box is made of paper-mache and signed with artist’s signature. Size :15 x 15 x 3.5 cm (5.9 x 5.9 x 1.4 in)
